Course Information
Description Advanced concepts and practice of haircutting. Topics include haircuts utilizing scissors, razors and/or clippers.
Required Textbooks Textbook Purchasing Statement: A student attending Lamar State College Port Arthur is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from the college-affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.

ANY DAYS MISSED MUST BE MADE UP BEFORE THE END OF THE SEMESTER.


Make-Up Schedule: Every Friday - 9am – 11am 

Students should make every effort to attend class ON TIME. Late arrival to class is disruptive. Students who consistently arrive after the beginning of the class, (3 or more times) will receive a half days absence. Students who arrive after the start of class should go straight into the lab or computer lab and begin working on their skills assessments or assignments.


The time clock is used for TDLR attendance verification.
Each student is assigned a code to clock in; it is your responsibility to clock in and out each day.
No student may clock in or out for another.
Additional Information Any student absent from class (online & lab) without notifications, for 30 days, will be dropped from the program.
TDLR Rule 83.92: “A school shall terminate a student who does not attend Cosmetology Curriculum for 30 days.

COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
HB 2504 This syllabus is part of LSCPA's efforts to comply with Texas House Bill 2504.
